Kumail Nanjiani called out Salon for wrongly stating he was on the Big Bang Theory.

The news website Salon better double-check IMDB next time.

Actor Kumail Nanjiani of HBO’s Silicon Valley called out Salon for incorrectly saying he was a “regular” on CBS’s hit show The Big Bang Theory.

“So @salon did a Silicon Valley review & said I’m a regular on Big Bang Theory,” Nanjiani tweeted April 10 with a screenshot of the error.

Then, after Nanjiani highlighted the error, he accused Salon of covering up the error, writing on Twitter that Salon changed the story without any correction.

Salon‘s editor-in-chief David Daley denied that the website tried to cover up its error. “A correction was immediately posted to the top of the story,” Daley wrote to iMediaEthics when asked if Nanjiani’s tweeted suggestion was correct.

Salon tweeted the news of its correction around half an hour after Nanjiani’s comment about them covering it up.

The correction reads “Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly said that Kumail Nanjiani is also an actor on “The Big Bang Theory.” Salon deeply regrets the error.”
