The Independent reported Oct. 4 that the investigation into phone hacking in the UK might begin next month.  The investigation, dubbed the Leveson Inquiry, focuses on “media ethics and phone hacking.”

While Leveson is quoted as saying  “The present thinking is, and I am not committing to this, that we are unable to be likely to start before the second week in November,” Leveson noted that the investigation may last several years.
