The Huffington Post’s Arianna Huffington announced August 21 that starting this month, the site is banning anonymous comments and will require real names for commenting, technology news site Giga Om reported.

Huffington explained that the move is in response to “aggressive” and threatening comments. She is quoted as saying: “I feel that freedom of expression is given to people who stand up for what they say and not hiding behind anonymity.”
