iMediaEthics' Corrections Policy: We will post a correction if there is a factual error. We append corrections to articles explaining what the correction is and will also automatically post corrections here.
We typically will not post a correction when fixing small typos or copy edit marks if change won't alter the meaning of the sentence.

News sites are reporting different spellings of Han's name. We originally spelled Han's name Ki-Suk Han, based on the spelling used in initial reports. iMediaEthics has since called the New York City Police Department (NYPD) to fact check and Police Officer Markowski from the Office of The Deputy Commissioner of Public Information confirmed today that Han's name is spelled Ki-Suck Han. We regret the error.

Register Citizen Corrected Error on Front Page Above the Fold
| DeRienzo tells iMediaEthics that the correction already ran in print last week on Nov. 14. DeRienzo's Nov. 18 article said the newspaper "made the decision to run a more detailed correction on the front page, above the fold, in Wednesday's print edition." iMediaEthics took this to mean the correction was still to come in print. We've fixed the headline and explained in text as well. |

UK Observer Corrects Julian Assange Autobio Review after PCC Complaint
| Fixed the last sentence. We originally wrote that Assange's previous complaint to the PCC was over a Guardian review. However, as reader Johnny points out, it was a review written by Guardian reporter James Ball that ran in the New Statesman. Thanks for letting us know of the error Johnny! |

Maine Newspaper Apologizes for Plagiarism, Fires Reporter
| We originally wrote that the Forecaster publishes three times a week and has a circulation of 20,000 copies, according to Mondo Times. However, the Forecaster publishes four times a week and has a "total distribution" of about 70,000, according to the newspaper's editor. We have corrected the story below and are writing to Mondo Times to let them know. http://www.mondotimes.com/1/world/us/19/6436/19533

Arch Daily Responds to Plagiarism Charges from Architecture Record
| The name of the magazine and website accusing Arch Daily of plagiarism is Architectural Record, not Architecture Record.
Also, this quote -- "I hope that this doesn't affect our relation with Arch Record, as we are both voices of the architecture world" -- was incorrectly attributed to Jenna McKnight. The comment was made by David Basulto. We regret the errors. |

NBC Paid Licensing Fee, Hoax Pregnancy Teen Paid $150 For Footage
| Sharlene Martin, the teen's agent, informed us of an error. She explained: "In Ms. Bremner's statement she said that the Toppenish School Board sold the rights to the video TO Gaby Rodriguez for $150 so it could be licensed to NBC. The fee NBC paid for the licensing of the video was put into a scholarship fund for Gaby, as dictated by the terms of the agreement negotiated between Gaby's attorney, Anne Bremner, and the Topppenish School Board. The amount of the licensing fee paid by NBC has not been disclosed and is NOT the $150 as reported by you." We regret the error. |
